welcome to the iamc! we are an independent group of enthusiasts, linked by a shared love of italian two- and four-wheeled vehicles. many italian car and bike clubs do not have enough members in particular areas to make local meetings and social activities viable, but by getting together such events become possible - and even more interesting! news and useful information about iamc events, products and services next iamc meetings the dates for our regional meetings are shown on our calendar page. our regional meetings for july and august will be: mon 2nd july - oxfordshire thurs 5th july - gloucestershire tues 10th july - south wales wed 25th july - west wiltshire thurs 2nd aug- gloucestershire mon 6th aug oxfordshire tues 7th aug - south wales wed 22nd aug- west wiltshire details of all locations can be found on our regions page. as spring is now upon us, regional meetings are starting up once more in south wales and oxfordshire. we are suspending hampshire meetings for a while whilst we review demand and look at potential locations. please note our oxfordshire meetings have relocated to a new venue - the royal sun at begbroke bristol italian automoto festival biamf 2017 took place on april 22nd and despite all the challenges presented by the building works in the city centre, it proved to be one of the most satisfying events yet. this year we celebrated the 70th anniversaries of ferrari, lambretta and the lancia motor club. it was also the fiat 500 club’s 25th anniversary. notable model anniversaries are lancia: aprilia 80th - flaminia 60th - fulvia sport 50th - hyena 25th - kappa coupe 20th, alfa romeo giulietta 116 – 40th and the fiat nuova 500 - 50th. once again there was a grand turnout of iconic italian cars, motorcycles and scooters, all ushered safely into position by the ever willing band of volunteer marshals, without whom the event could not be held. this year we were visited by tv personality kevin mccloud who entered a 1955 alfa romeo 1900 c ss and a 1967 fiat dino spyder 2.0. we are most grateful for the support of our event sponsors (see further down) and particularly motor sport vision racing who sponsored the awards. many many thanks to our good friend colin rear for his fantastic report which can be found here . please also check out colins other work at his new website colinoncars. however, we regret to confirm that there will be no biamf in 2018. the organisers have matters in their personal lives that would heavily restrict the amount of time they can devote to the many organisational tasks needed to be completed to achieve a well run event. in addition to this, the charges payable to bristol city council are set to increase dramatically, and we need to consider how to address this without passing too much additional cost to entrants. we are therefore taking a break to consider our options for the future. we wish to thank all the entrants, marshals, sponsors and the st nicholas market staff who have supported us in the past and we apologise for the disappointment this announcement will cause. italian passion for speed sunday 10th june in cardiff the italian passion for speed will take place on 10th june in this unique location beside the iconic national assembly for wales building in cardiff bay. please refer to the website for more details, and those interested in exhibiting should complete the application form here and return it to david morris. last year superb weather ensured a magnificent turnout of performance cars and a large number of visitors swarmed in to view and admire them. many thanks must go to the italian auto moto club members paul talbot, david morris and their helpers for the organising and smooth running of the event. please see colin rears excellent report on the event at colinoncars great western italian day at ss great britain 16 & 17th june join us on bristol’s historic harbour at brunel’s ss great britain on 16 & 17 june for an italian car display with a difference! we have been invited to display our cars beside the ssgb site on this fathers day weekend. each car entered will receive two free entry tickets (worth £15.70 each) to the ss great britain; which made its maiden voyage in 1845, the dockyard where she was built and the new brunel museum ‘being brunel.’ in addition you will be able to sample the many interesting features of the historic harbour including historic cranes, ships, boats, steam locomotives and the m shed museum. the matthew (a replica of a caravel sailed by john cabot in 1497 from bristol to north america, thereby beating columbus to the american mainland!) will be available for harbour cruises on the 17th june. due to space restrictions, numbers will be capped at 25 cars each day and entry will be by pre-booked pass only. all applicants must be paid up members of iamc in june 2018. please contact [email protected] stating which day you intend to come and the car you will bring. entrants should arrive between 09.00 and 10.00 hours and are requested to stay until at least 4pm. bridgnorth italian automoto festival - sunday 2nd sept we return to bridgnorth on 2nd sept for the third staging of the italian auto moto festival . last years event attracted the crowds, and a pleasing increase of the number of italian vehicles, despite the slightly inclement weather. organiser david morris said: "we've got cars and bikes, a total of more than 40 ferraris. "we also have three dino 246 gts, it's rare to see one and we've got three here. "altogether we've got about 65 or 70 vehicles in the high street. "a few dropped out because of the weather, but we still have enough to more than fill the high street." mayor ron whittle and mayoress carol whittle visited the event and the continental market which was at the other end of the high street. councillor whittle said: "it's a shame we didn't have yesterday's weather, but it's still a great event. "it's something different and it's really nice for bridgnorth to see events like this. "the event's organisers go to such an effort, there's a good selection of cars. "the children love it, it brings all the families together, it's something all families can enjoy." la vita rosso at prescott saturday may 26th the day dawned at prescott with showers and mist but the sun gradually made its presence felt as the venue began to welcome its visitors and exhibitors. our display enclosure, shared with the lancia motor club, soon began to fill and reached its capacity around mid day. in addition to friendships renewed and cars examined; there were the usual excitements of the hill climb and the paddock to keep us enthralled throughout the day. as the weather improved and the action on the hill started, our day was further brightened by the arrival of this spectacular 1933 alfa romeo 6c with coachwork by touring. avenue drivers club many members will be aware of one of our favourite regular events, the avenue drivers club in bristol. held on the second sunday of each month, this increasingly popular event sees an bewildering array of classics, supercars, trucks, americans, italians (of course), and you-name-it arrive in queens square for breakfast, a wander and a chat. the best thing is that every month is different ! joining the iamc want to renew your membership or join? please vist the join page for more details. interested in iamc merchandise? items can be found on our merchandise page and are available by mail order or can be collected at meetings and events. please check stock availability by contacting [email protected] before you order. the club organises various events during the year, from the major bristol italian automoto festival to smaller local gatherings which sometimes run to more than one day. club members can participate in planning, organising, staging and marshalling on these occasions and any assistance towards helping with these events is always gratefully received. those who help out inevitably enjoy a rewardi
